Well there you go, another day another conversation with a client who phoned HMRC and found them frustratng.
The issue is that its a lottery when you call HMRC if they know the answers, or if you go beyond their script that you have them lost.
Examples such as "treatment of CIS" in CT returns.
or "what is the treatment on the Scottish Tax Code when someone moves to England part way through the year"
None were answered..... until veentually got through to someone who could?
So is it that many front line telephone staff just dont know anymore?
